Leading medical technology company BD Rowa has announced the launch of the next generation of its smart dispensing robot, offering enhanced convenience with a sustainable design.

Currently in its final development phase, the latest BD Rowa™ Smart introduces a more intuitive user interface designed to streamline operations and enhance the user experience.


According to the company, the new BD Rowa™ Smart incorporates natural materials such as glass, wood, and recycled aluminium.

It is manufactured in a climate-conscious environment powered by solar energy and delivered in reusable packaging, reinforcing BD Rowa’s commitment to sustainability.

“Our machines have been quietly evolving over the years. While the improvements may not always be visible at first glance, we are constantly enhancing performance, reliability, and security,” said Dr Torben Schüttfort, managing director at BD Rowa.

“With the next generation of BD Rowa Smart, we are bringing all these upgrades together in a sleek, modern package.”

Additionally, the new Smart models come pre-equipped with upgraded operating systems and hardware, enabling a seamless, cost-free transition to the new user interface once launched.

Dr. Schüttfort shared that they have developed the new interface in collaboration with over 40 pharmacists, and it’s designed to be highly intuitive, making it easy to onboard new staff quickly, with key functions accessible in just a few clicks.

“The software is currently undergoing field testing with customers, and we are actively incorporating their feedback into the final product,” he said.

The BD Rowa™ Smart continues to offer the core benefits, including quick and seamless installation even during active pharmacy operations, significant time savings of up to six hours per day, and an exceptional 99.9%* reliability rating.
