Mark your calendar for Pharmacy Business Diversity Conference on December 9

Asian Media Group will hold the inaugural Pharmacy Business Diversity Conference on Thursday December 9 -- a ground-breaking event exploring and showcasing diversity and inclusion in the pharmaceutical industry.

The conference, themed 'Change the Ratio', will be be chaired by BBC presenter Clive Myrie and held virtually between 10am and 5pm.


While both both RPS and ABPI are supporting the conference as associate sponsors, Well Pharmacy, the UK’s largest independent pharmacy chain, is the headline sponsor of the event that will have some of Britain’s most inspiring leaders and influential diversity and inclusion practitioners.

These leaders will share their knowledge and experience whilst offering tangible steps to positively promote and implement diversity, inclusion and equality in workplace.

Key speakers at the event include Monika Misra, head of employee health and wellbeing, Europe and MEA at GSK, Julie Campbell, head of people & organization Novartis Oncology UK & Ireland at Novartis Pharmaceuticals UK Ltd, Robbie Turner, director of pharmacy and member experience at Royal Pharmaceutical Society and Celeste Warren, VP global diversity & inclusion COE at Merck Pharmaceuticals.

Other speakers are Zaheer Ahmad MBE, global head of inclusion and diversity at GSK Consumer Healthcare, Jay Muthu, director, organization and people capability at Entain Group and Rob Neil OBE, director at Krystal Alliance.

Starting with opening remarks from Myrie, the conference will hold individual presentation rounds and panel discussions.

The key aim of the event is to explore new thinking in the D&I space and relate them to the practicalities of everyday office life.

PDA to inform its members to vote “no” in Royal College of Pharmacy proposals

A vote to create a potential Royal College of Pharmacy needs to be called off as the current proposals would lead to “irreversible change to the identity and purpose” of the sector’s professional leadership body, according to the Pharmacy Defence Association (PDA).

NHS England’s top doctor to step down following Amanda Pritchard’s resignation

Just a week after NHS England chief executive Amanda Pritchard announced her resignation, the organisation’s national medical director, Professor Sir Stephen Powis, has confirmed he will step down this summer after more than seven years in the role.

In a statement released on Thursday, Professor Powis revealed that he had informed Pritchard of his intention to leave in a letter back in January.
