New owners of Summersdale Pharmacy are excited to leverage the unique opportunity presented by the close relationship with the local GP surgery

Summersdale Pharmacy, originally established by local doctors at Lavant Road Surgery, has been sold for an undisclosed amount.

Located just outside Chichester town centre and attached to the local GP surgery, the pharmacy dispenses around 10,000 items per month.

Following the retirement of some doctors, the remaining GPs decided to sell the pharmacy, with specialist business property adviser Christie and Co handling the transaction.

The pharmacy has been acquired by experienced multiple operators Mohamed Amiralli and Kardo Ali through a joint venture.

Ali highlighted their intention to build upon the strong foundations laid by the previous owners.

He noted that the pharmacy's close relationship with the local GP surgery presents “a unique opportunity to provide even greater care and service to the community.”

“We’re committed to continuing the pharmacy’s strong reputation while exploring new ways to expand its services and ensure it remains an integral part of the local community,” he added.

Mark Page, director - pharmacy at Christie and Co, highlighted the strong demand for health centre-based pharmacies due to the collaborative potential with GPs.

He added that Summersdale Pharmacy attracted multiple offers and expressed confidence that the new owners would take the business to the next level.

Earlier this week, Page also oversaw the sale of Angel City Pharmacy in Islington, North London, which benefits from high footfall thanks to its busy location.

Dispensing an average of 1,971 items per month, the community pharmacy had been owned by Shaid Sheikh since 2015, who decided to sell the business last year to retire.

The pharmacy was purchased by Ikheko Evbuomwan, a local first-time buyer with ambitious plans to introduce new services such as the Pharmacy First scheme and Covid and flu vaccinations.

Reflecting on the sale, Page said: “I first met Shaid when he approached our stand at the Pharmacy Show in 2023 and, coincidentally, we completed his pharmacy sale in the same week as the Pharmacy Show in 2024.”
