M&D Green pharmacy relocates to modernised Antonine Centre in Cumbernauld

The pharmacy, part of the M&D Green Pharmacy Group since 2018 in  Antonine Centre branch now operates seven days a week, providing a full range of services daily

In a notable development for healthcare services in Cumbernauld, McLean's Pharmacy, part of the M&D Green Pharmacy Group since 2018, has relocated from the old town centre to the newly modernised Antonine Centre.

This move significantly increases the pharmacy’s floor space, enhancing its capacity to serve the local community.

The new location, situated directly across from Central Health Centre, features an entrance conveniently located at the top of the path from the surgery.

This prime position facilitates easier access for patients and healthcare professionals, thereby strengthening the pharmacy's integration with the local medical community.

The Antonine Centre branch now operates seven days a week, providing a full range of services daily.

This extension of hours and increase in space enables the pharmacy to better serve Cumbernauld and its surrounding areas.

The free prescription collection and delivery service continues to cover the entire local area, ensuring accessibility for all residents.

The pharmacy offers a variety of services, including smoking cessation support, compliance aids, care home services, Pharmacy First, and Pharmacy First Plus, when a prescribing clinician is available.

Notably, the branch’s pharmacy manager, Laura, has recently completed her independent prescribing qualification.

This advancement enables her to examine and prescribe for a range of acute, common clinical conditions, thereby assisting local GP surgeries and reducing their workload.

The modernised pharmacy includes two bespoke clinical consultation rooms, providing patients with the opportunity to speak discreetly with experts.

Additionally, the pharmacy now stocks high-quality Scottish brands such as Arran Aromatics, Scottish Fine Soaps, and Siabann, which have quickly gained popularity among customers.

Luxury skincare products from brands such as CeraVe, La Roche-Posay, and Vichy are also available, offering dermatologist-approved solutions for various skin conditions.

The pharmacy staff have worked diligently over the past few months to ensure a smooth transition, causing no disruption to patient care.

The move has also led to the addition of several new team members, reflecting the pharmacy's growth and commitment to providing exemplary patient care.

"We are eager to extend our services to everyone within Cumbernauld and the surrounding area, priding ourselves on the optimal care and service we can provide," the team at McLean's pharmacy said in a statement.

"Our free prescription collection and delivery service covers the whole local area. As before, we will provide services including smoking cessation, compliance aids, care home services, Pharmacy First, and Pharmacy First Plus."

"We have recently seen one of our pharmacy managers, Laura, complete her independent prescribing qualification, which will allow for extended prescribing to the community.

"This will assist the surrounding GP surgeries, helping reduce their workload with Laura examining and prescribing for a range of acute, common clinical conditions.

With the modernised pharmacy hosting two bespoke clinical consultation rooms, it will also be possible to speak discreetly to an expert in our team."

The M&D Green Pharmacy Group looks forward to continuing to deliver high-quality healthcare services to both new and returning patients at the enhanced Antonine Centre location.
