Seven people have been arrested in connection with the theft of prescription drugs worth £350,000 from two pharmacies in Pendle and Rossendale, East Lancashire.

The suspects, aged between 21 and 35, include five men and two women.

They have been detained on charges relating to theft and drug-related offenses, including conspiracy to supply Class B and C drugs, with two also accused of money laundering.

Those arrested include:

  • A 32-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man from Nelson, both suspected of theft by an employee and conspiracy to supply drugs.
  • A 32-year-old woman from Nelson and a 23-year-old man from Barnoldswick were arrested on suspicion of theft by an employee, drug conspiracy, and money laundering.
  • A 21-year-old and a 24-year-old from Nelson, both accused of drug supply conspiracy charges, with the latter also suspected of theft by an employee.
  • A 35-year-old from Blackburn, facing similar charges.

DS Josh Boswell, of Burnley CID, described the arrests as “a significant point in what remains a complex investigation,” crediting the outcome to the “tenacity of the investigation team.”

Lancashire police executed search warrants on Monday morning (25 November) in Nelson, Barnoldswick, and Blackburn, which led to the seizure of mobile phones, Class B and C drugs, cash, and designer goods.

All seven individuals remain in police custody as the investigation continues.
