Corsodyl unveils new toothpaste and mouthwash range targeted at preventing gum problems

Corsodyl unveils new toothpaste and mouthwash range targeted at preventing gum problems
New Corsodyl Gum Strength & Protect line includes clinically proven formulas to enhance gum health and prevent issues

With more than half of the UK population experiencing gum problems and many not believing their condition warrants treatment, there is a significant need for an oral care range that promotes good gum health and prevents future issues.

Corsodyl is set to launch a new Gum Strength & Protect line, featuring two toothpastes and a daily mouthwash which are clinically proven to protect against gum problems.

This range aims to meet the growing consumer demand for oral care solutions that help proactively manage gum health and prevent issues related to poor oral hygiene.

The Corsodyl Gum Strength & Protect line is designed to strengthen the gum seal around teeth, offering long-lasting protection.

The product is enriched with hyaluronic acid, a key building block for strong gums, and includes IPMP (Isopropyl Methylphenol) and zinc as antibacterial active ingredients.

Research shows that IPMP reduces plaque regrowth, while zinc reduces oral malodor, tartar formation, and helps control plaque due to its antibacterial properties.

Dr. Kate Fabrikant, Medical Lead for Northern Europe at Haleon, commented, "We know that consumers are wanting to take more measures to protect and proactively manage their gum health in between dentist visits."

"As a specialist gum expert brand, we have a responsibility to continue providing oral health products that keep up with the evolving needs of consumers.

"The new Gum Strength & Protect range offers shoppers daily preventative care to tackle gum problems and stop them from getting worse," she added.

The Corsodyl Gum Strength & Protect toothpaste will be available in Whitening and Fresh Mint variants, and the Gum Strength & Protect mouthwash will come in Icy Mint.

The range will be available in Boots starting from June 10, 2024, and will be stocked in Tesco and Sainsbury's later in the month.

The manufacturer's suggested retail price for these products is £6.

The announcement of the new Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPCF) for 2025/26 in England marks a step forward in stabilising the community pharmacy network. The Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) is set to transition into a Royal College after securing majority support from its members in a recent ballot. However, concerns have been raised about the long-term implications of this shift.

With a voter turnout of 31.4%, 6,144 out of 19,594 eligible members participated in the vote on the Royal Charter changes. Of those, 71.1% supported the transition, well above the required two-thirds majority for a Special Resolution Vote.
