A pharmacy in a small village in Scotland that has served its community for 31 years, has been bought by a group that operates 43 pharmacies across Scotland.
Slamannan Village Pharmacy is heavily relied on by locals sourcing their prescriptions from the village’s sole GP surgery.
Dispensing an average of 6,200 items per month, the pharmacy benefits from a modern fit-out with a spacious dispensary area and two consultation rooms.
It was previously owned by its founder, Ray Mackie, who recently decided to sell the business to retire.
Following a confidential sales process with Karl Clezy at Christie & Co, it has been purchased by the Right Medicine Pharmacy Group.
“The sales process was expedited in a professional and timely manner with the whole process completed within 13 weeks with the cooperation of Right Medicine Pharmacy Group,” said Mackie.
Mike Embrey, company director at the Right Medicine Pharmacy Group, said: “Having known Ray for some time, we were already aware of what a great pharmacy he ran and how much he and his team were valued by patients.
“We now hope to continue to look after Ray's pharmacy, team, and patients long into the future and wish him a fantastic retirement!”
Slamannan Village Pharmacy was sold for an undisclosed price.
